An Order of Snow Please

I have had a busy past couple of days and missed out on my blogging. I love this time of year! However, I wish we had snow on the ground! We normally do already this time of year. We have had 3 snows this winter so far but none of the snow has stayed. In fact, the past couple of days have been full of rain. Eek. I prefer my rain in the Spring (hehe). I know a lot of people prefer to have no snow though. I'm such a Northern girl though and I live for the snowy winters where staying inside under warm blankets watching movies and drinking hot cocoa is what I look forward to. I understand and do agree though, driving in snow isn't always fun (unless of course, you're my husband). In that case, he'll give you quite the experience haha

Today I received an awesome Christmas present from the wonderful husband of mine. I was so thrilled and I am still excited about it haha. Most have said, isn't it a little early? My response is no. My last camera crashed a year ago so I have been using my iPod for my pictures and lets face it, it doesn't have the most amazing quality. Now I can share more of our life in pictures with everyone. And of course, on my blog! I also love to edit pictures. Is it obvious? I'm so excited for Christmas. Every year I feel like a kid again come Christmas. It's not because of the gifts but because of the feeling it has given me since I can't remember. I often notice that Christmas isn't what it used to be to a number of the population today. You see so much about people taking Christ out of Christmas but without that, it's just Christmas. Bothering, don't you agree? Okay, I'll admit that I am getting rather excited. Oops!

I spend everyday with the most amazing little boy ever. He's growing so fast. I'm sure I said it in the last post but I think it's a common phrase every parent uses. It's so true though! Braedyn has recently learned the art of tantrums. I have been told by a nurse specializing in children that its a learned action. Oh joy! We are doing pretty well at correcting them so far though and I am hoping to continue the progress. Daddy seems to think Braedyn is my sidekick haha and I guess you could say he is. He's definitely with me all the time and I really don't mind it.

Tonight, we introduced some wonderful friends (a part of our Nebraska family) to our favorite restaurant here. Its German cuisine and it's called Zum Biergarten. The food their is amazing and you get your money's worth. I have always left there with leftovers lol. They normally last me a couple days haha. I ate the Jaeger Schnitzel and mashed potatoes with brown mushroom gravy. Their "side" salad is far different than most would expect too. It's probably the best salad ever. I could eat their food all day everyday! Whether you like German food or not though all depends on what you like to eat. But, they're cuisine is my favorite hands down.

Well, I am finally feeling tired enough to hopefully fall asleep. Yay! Hot tea with a tad bit of sugar and some lactose free milk helps me wind down a bit. The song Braedyn and I sing about Dreamland every night goes a little like this "Here we go, go, go on an adventure..." We sing it in the tune of Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! Hehe. Okay, gute nacht to all! I hope you all get a wonderful night of sleep!

"Here. Have some milk with that yawn!"

You Have to Start Somewhere

So, I started this blog over a year ago when Braedyn was about a month old. I managed to start it then forget about it. So there's a lot that will be absent on here...like the last year. Oops!

I'm a mommy of 1 little boy and we're expecting our 2nd baby due July 2nd, 2012. It was a total shock to us and those around us but we're excited! I've already had my first appointment and I am anxious for the next one here in a couple of weeks. We have yet to find a boy name we both like or agree on but we do have a girl name. With Braedyn, we couldn't come up with a girl name. Funny how it is the opposite this time.

I'm a very happy and proud mommy! Braedyn is such a smart and comedic little boy. He is constantly going places. It's still so hard to believe he's about to be 15 months old! Where has the last year gone! We have had quite the year with numerous roller coasters. Back in July, Braedyn and I went through genetic testing (blood serum) to see if he also has Gardner's Syndrome or not. After a grueling, anxious month, we received the call with the results. He tested positive. At that moment, I knew that he has a tough road ahead of him but I know he will be just fine. He's a very tough and happy little boy. Shortly there after, we met with the genetic counselor and then his primary doctor. We left that day with referrals to take him to a (all pediatric) gastroenterologist, oncologist, urologist. Rather scary, yes. But with a wonderful support system and good faith, everything will be okay. I'm a true believer and example.

I love these moments! Sadly, they don't happen forever.

As Bill Cosby's show points out, kids say (do) the darn-est things! There's never a dull moment with Braedyn. If he's not making you laugh, then he's making you fall in love with him even more. No exaggeration.

I love watching Braedyn grow and develop into a little person more and more everyday. I guess it could be considered my hobby being as I enjoy it so much hehe. Sometimes it makes me sad to remember how little he was such a short time ago and now I have a rambunctious, energetic, comedic toddler. How I love it though! I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's amazing how a little person can have the personality of a grown-up and sadly, more than one sometimes.
He walks around pointing and laughing at things. In most cases, he'll find a way to bring it to me so I can see too. I'm guessing it's also so he has a reason to touch it which is okay a majority of the time. He loves to "talk" and learn which is always exciting. He now says: luh (love) you, baby, go, Bai (our dog Bailey), dog, Saa (our dog Sasha), cat, what, good, nanny, nana, and meme. One of his favorite things to watch is Your Baby Can Read. I do recommend it too. If you say good job or yay, he claps. If you ask him if his food is good or he likes it, he will normally say "Mmm." He loves to cook with mommy and daddy.

Well, I think I'm pretty much done. I'm working on readjusting my messed up sleep schedule. I hope you all enjoyed my first blog post. Let me know if you liked it (and I'm always open to pointers). Merry blogging and happy holidays!

Gute nacht,

mommy insomniac :)
